The Leadership in Energy and environmental Design or LEED is an entity that was created by the USGBC in the year 1988 to provide green building solutions to builders and contractors. This involved the introduction of Green Building Rating Systems that rewarded buildings and projects for implementing the various green building norms. Over a period of time, LEED started the LEED Certification program which involved testing the knowledge levels of builders and contractors with regards to various green building practices. Likewise, I also tested the understanding of a builder with regards to the various green building requirements and processes. This LEED Certification is also provided for individuals seeking a career in the green building industry. Those who want this certification have to clear the LEED Exam.
Before taking the LEED Exam, a candidate has to go through the LEED Exam Prep process. The LEED Exam Prep involves training the candidates so that they equip themselves with the required knowledge for taking the LEED Exam. The LEED Exam Prep refers to preparing for the LEED Exam by different means. There are study materials, guides, flash cards, CD’s, magazines, etc. that help the candidates understand the different concepts of the green building practices. Many programs offer to conduct mock tests in order to familiarize the candidates with the real exam. The LEED Exam Prep is very much relevant in preparing candidates for taking the LEED Exam and becoming LEED Professionals.
